> The gov’t should _love_ that- she will probably never file a tax return or disability claim to get any of that money back (which is rightfully hers).

Some research has shown that undocumented people actually cost the state less than ordinary citizens, because even tho they pay taxes, they often don’t dare trying to access services that they are entitled to (eg income tax refunds, municipal services like libraries, etc).

**curlcoat** , the only way for undocumented people to avoid paying property taxes is if someone else is paying it for them. In other words, I am a tenant but I have always paid property taxes, because my landlords have always included the cost in the rent they charge me (and they have never asked to see my passport before doing so). Otherwise they would have been taking a loss on my tenancy.

Are you suggesting that it is a widespread practice for landlords to pay the property taxes on behalf of their undocumented tenants, rather than passing along the cost in the rent? This doesn’t make much economic sense to me but it’s the only way that your assertion (that “illegals don’t pay property taxes”) can possibly work.

“I know you are but what am I”? Seriously? _Seriously?_

Okay, folks, she’s all yours. I’m done wasting my time.

Whatever curlcoat comes back with, I predict it will remind me of [this](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbVKWCpNFhY).

At one time I thought this too, but then I read a little more about the difference. ‘Black’ is just a race, and if that’s all you’re talking about that’s fine, but ‘African American’ defines an urban community were past ‘Italian American’ and ‘Irish Americans’ predominated. Since it’s the culture that is often referred too (rap, baggy jeans, ebonics whatever) it makes sense to be clearer. All this without tap dancing around delicate politically correct sensibilities.

Explain how a child has “more right” to SSI benefits than a 50+ woman who has worked (and therefore contributed to the fund) and is now disabled does?

Too bad none of that went together, but I suppose that is how you avoid answering questions when you don’t have an answer.

Nope, I am apolitical so I have no idea what the right wing has to say about anything. As for (what I assume you meant) my ample leisure time, I don’t really have that much, certainly not as much as you appear to. As for littering vs immigration, those are two separate subjects.

If he did, he would have done that for the seven months he was unemployed instead of spending the time here with me. Perhaps this is why you are unmarried, if this is your image of married people?

That’s nice to know - I hope it’s true of the other bleeding liberals.

Although she had a social security card with her own name on it, it came to light that her status was questionable (she had started the process to “get legal” but she was not, yet).

Ah, OK, there’s one…

On the other hand, they do have access to things like WIC, ADF, MediCal, the roads, the water, the sewers… I’m quite sure you can find better than “some research” that will show this is a big issue in S Cal.

Otherwise they would have been taking a loss on my tenancy.

If you are a landlord and you rent out a 2 or 3 bedroom house, do you charge more for the rent if there are six people living there rather than four? Or in the case of my next door neighboors, do you think they paid more property taxes when his illegal immigrant mother lived with them? There are at least eight people living in the house across the street and I have no idea about their status, but if all of them except the couple that own the house and their kid are illegal, does the homeowner pay more property taxes than he would if it was just the three of them?

You should probably look into how things are outside of your own area before you make assumptions about what goes on here.

I guess I’ll just have to risk the inaccuracy, then.
