E-DUB:
I like Alan Steele a lot.
Robert J. Sawyer is another favorite. A lot of sf writers get the science right, a lot do characterization right. Sawyer is that rare writer who does both at once. And, as a bonus, he’s a trekkie and almost always throws a Trek reference or two into every novel.
I agree with you Sawyer is up there for me too, part of the reason I started this thread was because of him actually, I hope to be going to a reading soon, I have so many questions I would like to ask him.
I love that he throws in a little Star Trek too.
He makes more money selling them to paying markets; all have been collected and reprinted, and I doubt they would have mass appeal.

<loks at name> Gee, I couldn’t tell
I hang on her email list , so I can ask her anything I want, and have asked her pretty much anything I wanted.
If your favorite author is a Baen author, they do have a message board and may authors do read and respond.

What do you think Amazon is?
If you could see the crap that is being sold for two buck a pop there …
My current favourite is China Miéville, and I have no desire to ask him anything.
