Scored an interesting one today. White Tesla Y with an “I bought this when Elon was in stealth mode” bumper sticker. That’s a good start. NJ standard plate reads **MLBVA**. Huh? The license plate frame saves the day: > I’d rather be playing > BEACH VOLLEYBALL This is parked at the beach in a town that’s sorta Mecca for FL’s beach volleyball. And also where lots of northeasterners come when the weather up there is incompatible with beach volleyball. I originally thought that represented “Major League Beach Volleyball Association” or something lcose to that. But there is no entity by that name that I could find once I got home to Google. I’ve been in New Zealand for a week now, and I hadn’t seen any personalized plates. I was starting to think that they weren’t a thing here, until I saw this one as we were stopping for lunch in Invercargill. I will offer this one without comment. Scored 5 on one errand run of just ~6 miles roundtrip. Could hardly write down one before the next appeared. Now I’m facing a 2-week drought. 😉 - **MUSTA-R9** on a FL standard plate on a convertible Mustang. The “musta” part is pretty obvious but the R9 has me scratching my head. There is a hop-up company specializing in Mustangs named “Roush”, but as best teh googles knows, that’s not one of their model numbers. - **CITER** on a 5-character surfer booster plate on a BMW X5 SUV driven by a gray-haired couple. Someone who cites might be an academic author = professor, or a lawyer or ??? Driver didn’t look like a retired policeman. Or maybe that’s their name? - **ZOMB⎵B8** on a FL standard plate on a raggedy econobox festooned with wacky bumper stickers. I suppose I’d be scared to be fleeing zombies in something that looked that flimsy & unreliable too. - **ATLST16** on a FL standard plate on a Tesla Model Y. Which would have been utterly baffling except for the license plate frame that gave the game away: Best for last, with a story. - It’s a warmish day here & I’m driving top down. I hear a nearby car with a noxious loud zoom-zoom-poppity-pop-pop-fart exhaust showing off his noisemaking like mad. I spot a likely suspect up ahead and catch up alongside him at the next light. Another top-down convertible of my make, but different model. 30-ish spoiled brat douchenozzle-looking guy driving. I say “Nice ride; great exhaust!”. We get to talking, he’s bragging about all the hop-ups he’s done to it. Fancy engine, headers, tuning kit, big tires, blah, blah, etc. Light goes green and he’s off in a cloud of noise. His FL standard plate: **POR MPG**. Truth in advertising FTW! ---

I scored four today! The first two were on my way into work and nothing exciting. **REITA** and **JMILLS** which I am assuming are just someone’s name, although the second one did have a cute sparkly leopard-print license plate border. On the way home I saw **MYADUH** on a Mazda Miata. Got a good laugh out of that one. And then **GOBIRDZ** that I just got a glimpse of. Couldn’t tell what “birdz” the driver was a fan of. ---

Short road trip today here in So Cal: Tesla Cybertruck with **310X311**. No clue. (The product is 96410, still no clue.) Ford Edge with **HOTEDGE**. Not sure a big SUV is ever gonna really be “hot.” (Seems unlikely it was stolen.) Dodge pickup with **ASDFJK**. Yeah, partial home row?. Web search got lots of strange hits. Dunno. ---

If you type a valid 5-digit zip code into Google _Maps_ it’ll do that. I did and it didn’t find anyplace. Further digging says 960xx is the region of inland far northern California. But there is no 961xx through 969xx. ---

This morning I saw: - **REAVER** on a Toyota FJ Cruiser. The owner must be a _Firefly_ fan. - **4 FOOTR** on an Audi crossover. I’m not sure what the owner has that’s four feel long. Or does it refer to literal feet, like something that walks on all fours, like maybe they have horses or something? ---

'Zactly. It’s a four wheel drive Audi. People have slangly referred to wheels as “feet” and tires as “shoes” since forever. Purists will fuss about the distinction between AWD & 4WD. Both spelled out and acronymed. IMO in an era of computer-controlled cars we no longer need concern ourselves with such mechanical arcana applicable to 1950s era architectures. ---

I know “fresa” is Spanish for strawberry, not sure if any deeper meaning there.
