I wanted PHSIII and it was taken, which I sorta didn’t believe. Then I tried all the combinations of 1s and Is, which were also taken. Finally took a guess, tried various OTHER random variations on standard Virginia tag patterns. My conclusion: 1s and Is are treated as the same in deciding whether a tag is taken or not (and spaces are ignored). And since PHS 111 would be a standard Virginia pattern, PHSIII and friends are all (virtually) taken. I did get 1 PHSIII. ---

A few days ago I saw a late model Porsche 911 convertible. Expensive car. 50ish non-athletic executive- / business-looking dude driving it. The license plate read **NFL FIX**. I though that was kinda brazen of him. ---

Not exactly a plate sighting, but similar. Today I saw a car with a Trump meme stuck next to the license plate (“They’re not after me, they’re after you, but I get in the way”). The frame of the license plate said, “Always Be Humble & Kind”. Really confusing. I’d like to ask the driver if they could give me one instance where Trump has been either of those things. ---

Today at the supermarket, I saw two cars parked next to each other. One plate read FULTZ, while the other said PERLIS. I assume both references were to the respective drivers’ surnames, although Perlis is one of Malaysia’s states and could thus be the original home of the second motorist. ---

The word ‘daughters’ is dætur, dóttur in the singular. ‘Dottir’ is specifically the rear half of a girl’s surname. ---

But 3 and DO would not be proper even truncated Icelandic, DA or DE maybe. I think it’s just English, more or less. ---

Saw several here recently. A cute little white Mercedes coupe with red interior and red convertible top. The license plate frame is an oversized rectangle paved entirely in sparkly rhinestones. The whole effect just screams a 50-70yo sorta wealthy woman with big hair and an annoying Pekinese. Might’ve sold real estate, might’ve been a TV news presenter, or might’ve just married well. The plate reads **LUVDABU**. Might mean “Love the Boo” where Boo is her nickname and the car and plate were gifts from husband. Or “Love Dabu” and Dabu is the nickname. The car lives in my building so eventually I’ll see the owner / driver. And the Pekinese. A late model big SUV/van from Lexus or Toyota. Florida sells plates with lots of different themes supporting lots of different causes. To which you can either accept a standard plate number or order a custom plate number/letter combo of your choice. This one had the equestrian-themed plate, so a picture of a green pasture, a bit of fence, and a happy horse outstanding in its field. The plate read **WHOA 4**. I guess this person was the fifth to have that idea. The car looked too clean to have spent much time among horse muck. Then again some people pay others to deal with all that ucky stuff. They just show up, hop on, and ride. Best for last. This very morning I saw one of the new style Ford Broncos. Here in Florida we don’t have front license plates. So some people put humorous fake plates up there to fill the space. Most folks just leave the space empty; the cars usually look better without. Anyhow, I saw this white Bronco with black top and trim coming towards me at short range, so not much time to read anything. The front “plate” was solid black with white writing and looked quite realistic. I couldn’t read the smaller print around the periphery, but the big letters said **NOT OJ**. I chuckled. After we passed I noted they had a generic actual Florida plate on the back. ---
