I’ve always assumed that person owns the nearby restaurant called Pizza Man. \*Checking the DMV’s site, PZAMAN is still registered to the car I used to see it on. ---

I saw a **BWEIRD** plate, which is nice enough. But one bolt was missing on the front and the plate was hanging down. I wonder if that was on purpose? ---

Hey now, I’m in the insurance business! We’re tons of fun… 🤪 Anyways, another idiot driver this morning, another custom plate. I’m starting to think it’s a self-fulfilling prophecy… This time it was **SPIFY** on a white sporty something or other with a loud engine who was zipping along changing lanes willy-nilly cutting people off as he went. “Spiffy” must have already been taken. ---

I have no doubt _you’re_ lots of fun. Those cow-orkers OTOH; jeez what party-poopers … Saw an Audi SUV with the FL game fishing booster plate featuring a sailfish jumping high out of the water. Those plates hold 5 characters. This one said **KPTIN** which I think sounds best when read in an Ensign Chekov voice. I also saw a generic car with the standard FL plate with **1⎵STUCK**. That one left me wondering. ---

I saw a plate that I didn’t understand at first. The plate was **MY 86** and the car was a newer Toyota 86, a model I’m not really familar with but I figured it out eventually. ---

As best I can determine, in CA altering the _front_ plate has been legal since about 2014, subject to some restrictions on legibility. Altering the back plate in any way is flat illegal. As is covering it or obscuring it in any way. Of course we all know enforcement of this stuff is negligible in every state. **ARMY RTY** I’m guessing “Arty” – [artillery](https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/arty) – but this was on a Women Veterans plate. Sometimes you go days without seeing any and sometimes you see 3 on one short drive. First up is a Honda sedan with **2ND4EVR**. The decode “Second forever” is very obvious. But the underlying meaning or story? Color me baffled. Next up was a family wagon with **JAR⎵⎵RR**. I thought about various pirate noises, etc. I finally settled on the tired pattern of His’n’Hers (or Hers’n’His) initials. But the spouse in this driver’s family doesn’t have a middle name. A few year old Kia or Hyundia sedan with **REIKI⎵77**. I know Reiki as a woman’s name and a type of pottery glazing. The 77 was a little mystifying until I got a good look at the driver. Who was driving in the right lane of a boulevard at 20mph below the speed limit. I’m betting the car and plate was a 77th birthday present for them. ~5 years ago. Dude was _ancient_ looking and driving like it too. ---
