Not things you’ve seen on the internet, but personal cat tails…er, I mean “tales”. We have two cats, Maki (female) and Suki (male). They became brother and sister the day they met, and Maki is just a loving and playful scamp, but Suki is insecure as all getout. We could be in the living room, but if he wanders around the corner to the main hallway, three minutes later we will hear a whiney “Where is everybody? I’ve been abandoned!” cry. We usually yell out “We’re right here, dipshit!” and he wanders back into the living room. ---

My sister’s cat is ferocious. She’s an Asian cat that is entirely untouchable so they just let it out on their patio all the time. Yesterday a red-tailed hawk tried to attack it from the front. The cat whipped around and smacked the hawk in the head. ---

My former cat, as he aged became extremely aggressive about sitting on your lap. If you stood near the couch too long before sitting down he’d yell at you. Even strangers were pounced on immediately upon sitting down. Later I put together it was because as he aged he wasn’t regulating his temperature well. The second layer quirk was that he only wanted laps. He would not sit on or next to someone lying down, even though he would sleep on my bed at night. If I sat in my office chair at my desk he’d claw at the chair because it didn’t make a nice lap for him. I spent most of the pandemic sitting on the couch with a cat on my lap and the work computer to the side. ---

My mom’s most recent cat (well, hers-ish; it was an outdoor-only semi-feral), we sometimes referred to as an “ambush petator”, because she’d demand pettings from any human she met. She’d actually refuse to let you feed her, until you’d petted her. ---

My best friend sent my cats lots of homemade catnip cat toys. Sandstone somehow discovered if he took a mouse made with long-haired fleece into the bathtub and batted it around it really moved and he wouuld chase it. I discovered it when the sounds woke me up. The look of “is there a problem, mom?”… ---

Jojo the Intrepid likes to mess with the squirrels at the bird feeders. As I rather squirrels carry on the funzies elsewhere I don’t care if they are scattered regularly. Last week Jojo messed with a big fat Momma Squirrel and 2 babies(teens). Momma chattered her irritation, on repeat. I looked up from my book and saw a ball rolling and I realized the ball was hairy. When Momma let go Jojo ran to the garage got on top the upright freezer. Swallowed his pride and licked his wounds. What’s funny is his sideways glances as he walks across the grass. He is on alert for that big Momma. ---

Our cat, an _extremely_ vocal Siamese, follows me around demanding that I pick her up and hold her upside-down like a baby while fondling her chest and head.
