My friend is planning on getting a Chinese Crested dog. I simply cannot warm up to this creature. Also, does anyone know what kind of temperament they have? Not that it matters much to me. It’s still butt ugly as far as I’m concerned. ---

I think they are cute…but then I think pugs are adorable. 😉 Don’t know about their temperment. ---

Looks like somebody crossed a Dalmatian with a Shetland Pony. Also looks like the irritating sidekick in a Disney animated flick. And not the Heroe’s sidekick, either. The one that keeps falling down manholes and gets a sack full of hammers dropped on his head. ---

I find dogs that are too extreme in looks like pugs, bulldogs, hairless dogs, German Shepherds with overangulated hips to be very ugly. Give me a Labrador over a pug anyday. ---

I _like_ pugs, but I agree with **Kalhoun**. Those things are ugly. If your friend’s concerned about paper training, she could go down to a shelter and get a dog who’s already trained. Besides, I’m not sure how valid the “small dog, small poo” theory is! CJ ---

Who knew there’d even \*be \* such a thing? I guess people feel the uncontrollable urge to discard them once they get a good look at their naked dogs once the fog of drugs and alcohol has lifted. beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, and all that rot. personally, i don’t think that dog is all that attractive, but if you like it, go with it. ---

OK, I call for attention. You know how at these boards there always seem to be one person for every topic? Like, even if you have a question that leaves everybody else confused, there will be an odd person to have all the information you need? Very well. I grew up next-door to a Chinese Crusted _breeder_. Everyday when I got home from school, they would bark at me. Every single day. They were about ten of them, and their momma’s lawn was facing the street. As soon as anybody walked past, they would rush against the fence - suddenly you’d have ten furless wannabe-coyotes in your face. They bark a lot. And they don’t have much personality to back up their unique looks, they are sort of dumb, from what I’ve experienced. I would like to say “they are ugly, but at least they sparkle with their inner warmth”, but I don’t think I can say that and keep a straight face. Most people like to approach them, 'cause they are very interesting to study and bring forth a sort of gimmicky presense. My neighbour obviously loved them a lot, so I assume that owning a chinese crusted is an aquired taste. If your friend is concidering it, she’s probably the right person already. She should check with anybody living in her house though. ---

Her bi-polar brother and invalid 90-year-old mother might really be pissed off about the barking. ---

Premium brands tend to have more digestible material and less filler, so less is left to come out the other end. ---
