I thought the animated girl in Tex Avery’s [Red Hot Riding Hood](http://www.fortunecity.com/lavender/diaz/1154/redhot.htm) was very cutely done. And the unfortunate girl kitty in all the _Pepe le Pew_ cartoons was always drawn _tres mignon_. ---

Sticking to the OP’s definition of “cute,” here’s my list. ('Cause really, there are very few male cartoon characters I find boinkable … although my first ever crush was on “foxy” Robin Hood, as voiced by Brian Bedford in the Disney cartoon.) - Santa’s Little Helper in _The Simpsons_. Also all of his puppies, those precious little Rory Calhouns. Bart and Lisa can be extremely cute too, mainly personality-wise. - [The White Seal](http://www.animationartgallery.com/CJLIWS.html) (as a pup), from the Chuck Jones TV special of the same name. - Max, from _How the Grinch Stole Christmas_. Dang, Jones really knew how to draw the cuties! - And hello, people – where’s the Dumbo love? - Roger Rabbit, from _Who Framed Roger Rabbit_. Particularly in the scene where he breaks down in tears in the movie theater. I love when Eddie apologizes to a tearful Roger for yanking his ears, and Roger looks up hopefully at him: “_All_ the times you yanked my ears?” I. love. that. - Bugs Bunny, when he’s wearing the baby bonnet after being delivered to the gorilla family. - The Zoloft bouncy ball. Who doesn’t want it to find happiness in ladybugs once more? The way it keeps getting one neuroses after another – first it just had depression, then social anxiety disorder, and then panic attacks… gotta feel some sympathy for the poor little guy. Do comic strips count? Because Snoopy is the cutest character of all time, IMHO. 🙂 ---

Anime, of course, has the lock on cartoon “cute,” both varieties. For “adorable cute,” I’m going with that dog that looks like a cat from _Excel Saga_ – the one who sings the closing-credits song about being eaten. A special jury prize must go to _Fruits Basket_, for the most “cute” crammed into a single TV series. ---

Also Kimba The White Lion and Baby Looney Toons I’ve heard that “Fruits Basket” was sickeningly cute ala “Smurfs” Not true? ---

From _Tenchi Muyo_, Mihoshi is a ditzy blode, nicely tanned, dumb as a rock, but cute as a button! 🙂 ---
