Cyber Monday? Really? Totally silly concept, but marketing genuis, I suppose.

The name Cyber Monday came from the early days of the interwebz, when most consumers had _slow_ dial-up service at home but relatively fast T1 connections at irk. They found the biggest day for online shopping was today, the Monday after Black Friday & realized that it was because all of the consumers were being quite productive at irk…well, quite productive doing their holiday shopping since the pages loaded so much faster.
Now, with so many having high speed connections at home, plus 4G smartphones to comparison shop while _in_ the store, it’s kind of like having a big sale for National Buggy Whip Day.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffienated, brekkied, purtified and at irk. 'Tis a cold 29 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 72 for the day. We are promised rain tomorrow. We shall see.
I met OYKW for brekkie at his place early this mornin’. Well, I went by Booger King and got brekkie. We also ummm… “welcomed” each other home. 😃
**Jynx** hope the day gets better. Sounds like it just can’t go anywhere but up.
My level of carin’ for “Cyber Monday” is the same level it is for “Black Firday.” Zero. Zilch. Who cares! So There! 😛
Ok, that’s all I got for now. Irk beckons, alas.

I’m here! The grades were posted this morning and I got an A on my assessment test that I took online the other day! 😃
After living here in the suburbs for nearly 34 out of my 38 years, I cannot tell you how weird it is to see cows grazing next door (even after they have been here for at least 6-9 months).
ETA: Yeah, the emails I got for Cyber Monday sales weren’t anything worth mentioning, really.

(OK, I _do_ know. But the knowledge is pretty much irrelevant for me. Except some Israeli chains have started having “Black Friday” sales… 😕:dubious::rolleyes:??? I have no idea if they even know what Thursday it comes after or what it actually means :smack:.)

We don’t have Cyber Monday here either, but if we did I suspect it would be greeted with the same lack of enthusiasm that any other Monday is. Today, I has a big fat blurf.
