You’re taking college courses? I didn’t realize that. Congrats.
My presentation went really well so thank goodness for that. Man, do I ever dread those blasted things. I can finally relax after being keyed for a week now. I stuck champagne in the fridge yesterday. I wonder if you can beerbong it? We’ll see…

Congrats on passing exams and praxis! That has to be a relief 🙂
And Happy Birthday, Phouka! I had anniversaries of my 26th birthday until my anniversaries were old enough to vote. Then I stopped! Well, kinda. See, my bday’s in the fall, and I usually forget about it. Seriously, I do. But once fall starts, I think about it, and start mentally adjusting my age right around Halloween. Then, when my b-day comes, half the time I add yet ANOTHER year, forgetting that I’d already done so earlier. I was on the phone with my dad and he asked exactly how old I was and I told him 47, wheee! And MrTao gave me some looks, and was obviously doing mental arithmetic; by the end of the call I realized nope, I’m 46, wheee!
I can’t WAIT for Alzheimer’s, because I will finally have an excuse for forgetting how old I am. 😃
Oh, and thanks for the good wishes and hugs; the interview went as well as it possibly could have, and now it’s just a matter of who else applies and might be more qualified. And I’ve no clue when I’ll get an offer, if I do; they MAIL the damn things, so…yeah.
Time to finish packing up the house and pack for vacation home, wheee 🙂

Howdy from da cave. I had to go see a couple folks and when I got done I decided to call it a day. So, I have salmon patties all made up to fry and **N.O.T.** all ready to be made into smashed **N.O.T.** , bizkits ready to bake and English peas ready to be cooked. In a bit I shall prepare it all. Comfort food for a cool, rainy day. YUM!
**Ethi** dungenness crab, I am jealous! Dungenness always looks misspelled to me.
Glad the presentation went well **lieu**. I see no reason why one cannot beerbong champagne. Let us know how it goes. 😃

Haaaaaahahahahahahaha…Bwahahahahahahahahahaaaaahahah…heeeeeeeheeheheheheeeeheeee. **swampy** made a funny 😃
erm no. Our system is obnoxious and it becomes one of those “I am out of everything else to do and I need my money back so I can pay the Credit Card” before anyone does them. There are usually bribes offered to get people to do the sticking down onto the 8X11 individual sheets then entering into the obnoxious system where the default drop down menus are all oppostite to what the vast majority of people select. Grrr

yea, I have been an Anthropology Master’s Candidate for 3 years, plus been working full time, and taking care of kids so I tend to down play the school stuff because it is just another thing I do, but I was pretty dern happy when I was told I passed my comprehensive exams. Now all I have to get through is my last final and two essays. Then I will graduate the 2nd to last week in December. I do no plan to walk, I have no time for that!

Ma-a-a-a-n, we came _SO_ close to losing a cat tonight, but saved him at the last possible moment. Dammit.
Before I went to Sandy Yeggo, VWife bought new to us furniture from the local Habitat For Humanity store, pissing me off royally. When I got back, I was ready to haul the old stuff to the dump, but she insisted on Freecycling it instead. Tonight, the takers came for the old stuff.
The couch had a big hole in the liner underneath, and it was standard practice for Booger to crawl into the hole to sleep. People picked up the couch to haul it out, and there was a dim thud from the couch when they turned it onto the back to get it out the door.
“I think there’s something in there.”
Just about that time there was a low “mrooow”.
No amount of coaxing would get him to the hidey hole to pull him out, so VWife had to slit the underliner at the other end and extract him from there. Imagine my disappointment at discovering the cat and keeping him. :rolleyes:

I hate transcribing. I wold gladly pay someone to do it if I ever have to do anything over 15 minutes. I am referring to transcribing an interview. I did a 1 hour interview one time that took me about 5 hours to transcribe. Pure torture.

It helps that its my own voice so I’m familiar with the phrasings and stuff. What drives me nuts is the long pauses where I was thinking. I did transcribe a training session and it was horrible.
