Afternoon!
We have a couple of tickets for the Powerball. $4 is cheap entertainment and we can dream of how we will spend it and then get up tomorrow and go back to work. 😃
Lunch today will be Subway I think after I go gas up the work truck and go sit in the sunshine for a bit.
I am feeling so much better today. Still coughing up a lung but I have my voice back at least.
I also got my expenses submitted. Go me!

Well, I threw in two bucks to the orifice lottery pool. What the heck. There’s only ten of us playin’ and we did this in the break room a few minutes ago. So, I either invested a couple bucks and will be filthy rich tomorrow or I threw away a couple bucks I coulda used to buy cookies which would, of course, be tragic.
What’s life without a little drama right? 😃

A story on the news last night said for office poolers to all sign the tickets and to distribute copies of the serial numbers. Apparently when one of the tickets wins, ‘that’s’ the ticket the holder bought by himself with his ‘own’ money. :dubious:

Bought my lotto ticket yesterday to avoid the throngs. At lunchtime, the bodega next to the food court was swarming with people all lined up to get tickets.
Got the annual poinsettia from the Lions Club. They set up tables near the food court and it’s a win-win. The Lions get some funds and you get a poinsettia that’s nicer than the ones at the grocery store.
Update on the maternal front… One of the lumps that the doctors found was assessed to be a harmless cyst, but another is not so harmless, so it, and the segment of colon it inhabits is being removed. She’s still a bit mystified at the idea of using robots for surgery, but I did my best to explain how using DaVinci benefits the patient. “You know that 18-inch scar from when your gallbladder came out about 35 years ago? They do that through a couple one-inch slits now.”
The good news is that the tumor has well-defined margins and the M-word has not been used in its description, so removing it may well be all they need to do for it with no chemo or rad.

Hey, just got great news about my neighbor, the one with the liver and kidney failure. He was transplanted last night and came through everything just fine. Yesterday we’d heard he was disappointed not to have been able to put up lights this year and he would miss being able to look out and see them. So several of us are getting together tonite to buy a bunch and we’ll put them up tomorrow night.
New organs and a lease on life, he definately got the best Christmas present of anyone I know.

I’m back. I should have known to quit making spoon rings when I was tired. I just hit my finger with a rawhide mallet just as I did two years ago before the same damn show. Last time I broke it, this time it’s only badly swollen and bruised. :smack:
