From DC’s point of view they all succeed though, because no one gets more federal money than DC. All representation would do is just give them a few more advocates who wanted even MORE money for the district. ---

Is more money the end of the story? I don’t think that every voter is a pure economy voter. I think some, at least, give a crap about how DC is run, and where that money actually goes. If nothing else, we can apply your argument elsewhere, too. Where gets the **second** -most federal money? How far down the list are we going before we get to someplace with no democratic representation? Is it just the number one slot? ---

Congress doesn’t have the power to admit DC as a state anyway. You need a constitutional amendment. ---

A large portion of the DC metro area is in Virginia.
