Last night 2/7/10, my Dad was admitted to the hospital for emergency surgery. Abdominal aneurism. Surgery was successful. Dad in ICU. But the next few days will tell if he makes it. ---

This happened to a friend’s dad, and he was quite a while getting over it. Apparently it is pretty tough on a person. Friend’s dad is, though, now recovered, and has his normal life back. I hope yours does well with it, too. ---

Still in critical condition. I saw him for a few minutes, he was sedated, & could not speak. He may have lucked out in a bad sit. ---

No change, except that he was semi-conscious when I was there. Conflicting messages were given me & my sister on how much BP medication he has been given. ---

I don’t have much to say but maybe this: When my mother was in a similar situation, I tried to keep her from being bored as much as she was consious. I didn’t spin pltes on sticks or anything, but I tried my best to keep her motivated to get better to get out. I don’t know if that might help your dad or if he even needs that, but it helped my mom pull out of the ICU with congestive heart failure + leaky circulatory system mumbojumbomedicalmystery stuff.
