I didn’t watch yet either. I’m going to watch the 1am rerun. Why don’t you watch that, or one of the other reruns tomorrow? I think it’s on at 10am and 8pm.

Actually, Kennedy has spasmodic dysphonia, a neurological disorder that makes the vocal cords contract or expand irregularly; it gives people with SD a strangled, hoarse sound that does indeed sound as if they’re nervous and/or about to cry. Sometimes it’s misdiagnosed as a “nervous condition” or other psychological problem, but it’s physiological (although there can be emotional ramifications too).

There’s no cure, but botox injections in the throat can relax the muscles and temporarily relieve the symptoms.

BTW, another radio personality with SD is [Diane Rehm](http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/style/features/daily/rehm0823.htm), from NPR.

That’s really all I have. Just thought I’d pop in with the info.
