Well. I hope the Sox win so THEY’LL TALK ABOUT SOMETHING THE FUCK ELSE UP THERE. Ahem. My Yank-loving co-worker said today that there’ll be a karmic payoff for all this–if the Red Sox win, Kerry wins, because God is smiling on New England right now. We’ll see. As for us Bronxites, well, we still have the TWENTY-SIX TITLES to rest on. ---

Well, I guess the ugliest way of doing the math is saying 1/50 x 1/50 x 2, or 2/250, 1/125, but that’s as if each candidate had equal chances of being from any state (1 in 50) and then halving those odds since it doesn’t matter which candidate comes from which state represented in the WS. Since the populations are different in each area, and because candidates are always tapped from certain key states, it’s a lot trickier than that, but what the hell. I’ll just say 1 in 125, a bit less than one percent. Of course if either of the Candidates is from Chicago, the answer is one in zero.
