I confess. It’s all my fault. You see, I’ve had a nasty cold that has turned into a sinus infection, leaving me with a bad cough. And it has been rainy and cold here for, what, 100 days in a row? In a house with two kids who are climbing the walls and none of their friends are available to come over to play. So, I’ve been posting like heroin addict on meth-expresso-mountain dew buzz. It’s all my fault. ---

I remember back in the day when the SDMB was hosted on an Amiga 500, which was connected to the Internet with a ISDN line. Hit [Submit Reply], take a long bath, study some postmodern philosophy, do the laundry, head out with your friends for a night on the town, close a bar, head back home, go to sleep, wake up, andsit through the Hitler Uber-Extravaganza Weekend on the History Channel. By the end of the weekend, your post probably went through. You kids have it good now! We all wondered, though, how Guinastasia managed to post some 5,000 messages under the circumstances. ---

I always thought that the “This page cannot be displayed” site should contain a few games of solitare, old Cecil columns, and maybe some chess to keep us entertained during the slow moments. Maybe even a chatroom. ---

For you “oldies” what does cause the board to be so slow? I don’t see the same thing on other communities. Is it a technical thing? (honest question, not sarcasm). thanks! ---
