Life is full of unpleasant things that nevertheless must be done. Someone in the OP’s position, who thinks the child support payments are a fair amount, would be ridiculous to go to the trouble of lowering the court-ordered payments and then paying the same thing voluntarily. That’d be an unpleasant thing that had no purpose at all (except, as you note later, to the sort of asshole who’d use it as an implied threat over the ex).

No, people were trying to tell him how to cheat the system. He uses both the word cheat and scam in his post. You could miss one, but how could you miss both of them?

This is a really bad habit of yours–leaping to the defense of rotten people by ignoring the big issue staring your right in your face.
