I hate you, ** Mr Bus Guy**. Because of this thread, I went to Panera’s website and used their store locator. That led me to the revelation that there is a Panera in the city I am moving to next semester.
Curses! I was there for two days this weekend and didn’t see it! If it wasn’t for this damn thread I would have never known.
Okay, I don’t hate you. Actually I love you. But only if you send me money every week so I can go get some broccoli cheddar soup in a sourdough bread bowl.
They have many Panera’s in NJ so we’re one up on you.
I have a $10 Panera gift certificate and a cozy restaurant ten minutes from my house. There’s big bowl of french onion soup, an mouthwatering artichoke panini and a scrumptious loaf of sourdough bread in my near future.
Yes fellow Dopers, i do work (manage) for Panera…I started as a baker and worked my way up.
Mr Bus Guy after reading the thread title is was ready to truck on upstate to see how i could intervieen and make your situation a pleasant experience but  you were being your typical joking self. Cool…
thanks for the great comments here and to the naysayers, yes, we do sometimes “miss the mark” but We (Panera/St Louis Bread Company) will ALWAYS strive to rectify the situation.
Thanks for the thread…now i feel like i’m at work. :smack:
sorry for two replies but this is a subject WAY close to my heart…
I am so over whelmed, Dopers get us (Panera)…(uhh I’m sure we can all agree that us Dopers can be a bit ummm critical sometimes).
Our stock is a solid mover and our associates are Authentic and genuine. To be honest sometimes the hardest thing about working here (panera/slbc) is leaving…but i digress.
For anyone that might wanna know…
We started as St. Louis Bread Company…
EVERY baked product if fresh, everyday…in over 850 store nation-wide we donate ALL leftover product at the end of the night to local food shelters/pantries etc…
So true. We only have an ABC near my office. I went there and asked for a “pick two” and the manager gave me a hard time because they call it a “half and half”.
heh. Ask Hugh Grant what he calls a “half and half”. heh.
Anyway, just to update: This morning started with a Spinach bacon Souffle and a Hot Chocolate while I sat in a comfy chair and pretended I had a fireplace…
Now I really want to go to Panera for lunch, but there are none around here! I’ll have to go to the one near my parents’ house when I visit them next week. I’ve never had the soup so I’ll have to try that.
Hmmm. While I have never eaten there (too crowded at lunch), our Panera’s is also next door to a bike shop and across the street from an Adult Entertainment Emporium. Is this a chain strategy of some type?
