The boids come to my window for peanuts. The crow boids and a Steller’s jay boid and more recently, hummingboids, thought they don’t eat the peanuts. They likes my flowers though and I just bought them a hummingboid feeder, of which I hope they’ll avail themselves. The sparrow boids like peanuts too but they don’t come to my windowsill. They will fly toward me when they see I’m going to throw some and they will try to catch them in midair. Silly boids. Now I don’t have any peanuts for them and so they are getting crackers wit’ low sodium. I will get them no sodium peanuts again soon. ---

We’ve had woodpeckers habitually jack-hammering on our gutters at 5:30 am or so. Metal gutters. Now, _that_ is a Damn Boid. Fortunately, I don’t live there anymore. ---

I presume that those of you who are complaining about birds making too much noise leave your windows open at nightk or just choose to open them anyway. Before I finally got the A/C fixed in my place I used to have to leave the windows open, which meant being awakened early by chirping birds. One thing that helps is that I sleep with a fan running as this drowns out excess noises. Now that the A/C has been fixed I usually keep the window closed. I still run the fan, though, as I can’t sleep in total silence. Now the only thing that wakes me up early are the cats, but that’s another story. ---

Nope—I mean, yeah, I leave them open, but my woodpecker wasn’t an open window problem. It is unbelievably loud. Gun shot loud. I heard it was a mating thing. That pecker musta been pimpin’. ---

You people are complaining about chirps and squawks from boids ensconced in the surrounding flora? Huh-uh. The real irritation is when the monster-butt crows strap on their big work boots and do Riverdance on the roof. Cheepety-caw-caw-cheep? No big deal. Stompety-stompety-scritch-scratch-stomp? _Now_ you’ve got something to complain about. ---

So starting at barely dawn, they’d start beating their nuts on it (wow, that sounds dirty!). And the stupid thing was too high to reach up even with a broom handle or something and pound back to chase them off. We just learned to ignore it. Dumb boids. ---

Beautiful description **conurepete**! Sam boid is a mitred conure, and his morning litany of hellish racket is, from what I’ve read, calling the flock. When it’s 6AM and I was on the internet until 3, I wish he’d shut the flock up! :eek: ---

Reminds me of a graffito I once saw: Spring is in the air, The boid is on the wing. My woid, how absoid. I always thought the wing was on the boid. Around here, the birds strafe the cats. Tough neighborhood. ---

**screech-owl, darwin’s finch, colibri, gymnopythis** , all those noisome, obnoixious boids on SDMB. They don’t wake me up in the morning but they keep me glued half the night to my computer. ---
