We seem to be having a little border-control problem here lately. Today is November 12, which any sane and reasonable person could tell you is far, far too early in the season for it to be SNOWING in ALBANY. This lovely little meteorlogical event is made possible by the convergence of moist air from the Atlantic and a southwardly moving _Canadian_ cold front. That’s right, it is ENTIRELY YOUR FAULT, as a nation, that I got snowed on today. I expect a formal written apology accompanied by a statement outlining the steps you intend to take to ensure that _your_ frigid sub-arctic air masses will stay on _your_ side of the border from now on. Your prompt attention to this matter is appreciated. ---

Ha ha, I think it’s kind of pretty. But people are driving like total fucking assholes, I have to admit. “Oh, no! It’s SNOWING! I only have the latest SUV, not the Maibatsu Monstrosity, so I must creep 15 FUCKING MILES BELOW THE SPEED LIMIT DOWN WOLF RD!” Aargh. Besides, don’t blame Canada. I know lots of nice Canadian people. Blame **Quebec**. ---

Better than “Ah ha! It’s SNOWING! I have an SUV, so I must drive 20 FUCKING MILES AN HOUR FASTER than the rest of traffic, weaving in and out and fishtailing inches away from people who are trying not to rear-end someone. Eat slush, punks!” Arrgh. ---

Get a grip already…we had snow in the San Gabriel and San Bernardino Mountains in SoCal LAST month. Apparently, Global Warming is to blame, not Canada. Sure beats the wildfires from last year at this time. ---

You mean you don’t like it? ☹ But but but we tought you’be be so happy: you can leave work early on a Friday and go skiing, make a snowman with the wee ones, go sledding with the slightly bigger ones, make forts and throw snowballs, or go for a lovely walk in the hushed, white mantled forest with that special someone… And then when you come inside again, with your cheeks all rosy and ears all read, and your jeans are all soaked, and everybody has that indescribable \*smell \* that kids have who were playing outside in the snow, you can have hot cocoa, or hot mulled cider, (_mulled cider with a splash of Crown Royal for the grown-ups, mmmm_). We thought this snow was the perfect way for you guys to have fun, spend time with the family, and forget all about the elections… And all the trouble we went through to get it just in time for the weekend too… \*\*Is this post too nice / Norman Rockwell / warm-fuzzy for the pit? I think I need some insulin now… \*\* 😉 ---

**Ex** ol’ buddy, you know I like you enough that I’d give you a beer if you showed up at my house and might even let you use my tools, but I gotta disagree with you about blaming the Canadians for the snow. [In this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=285448&page=3), post #118, you admitted to making policy decisions based on what makes sense rather than making decisions consistent with past practices or something like that. Using **sense** in the work setting is known to cause ensuing catastrophes the likes of which humanity has never known. Has _Dilbert[sup]TM[/sup]_ taught you nothing? Blaming the Canadians indeed! It is you who has brought this and probably impending doom to all humanity. Nothing good ever comes of using sense in the workplace. Let this be a lesson to ya. 😛 ---

And just like you, we’re not allowed to go home early until it’s up to our eyeballs. ---
