Damned School Board!

Mister V,
I’m having a little trouble with your problem. See, I live in a state where 50% of the people live below the poverty level. Millions of innocent people in Afganistan are going hungry. Thousands died in NYC. You might not be able to get into an Ivy League school!! Sorry I’ve got no tears left.

We live in a country where one is able to get higher education at Ivy League schools. Why is that freedom being denied by some fuckups who might have taken junkets or ignored the bills? I think it is important to Mister V and to all students.

We are the future of America. We want every advantage we can get. We fight and die in your wars, pay social security we may never see, and now have to deal with adults screwing us over.

Whoever fucked the funding up has to deal with 1800 students now who want compensation. Failing that, they want revenge.

Welcome to our generation.

Well, thank God the varsity sports are safe!

mister v,

Perhaps I was a bit harsh. I am usually the first person to rant and rave about local school board stupidity. It’s just not a good time right now.

red_dragon,
When you get a job and start paying school taxes then come back and tell me all about it.

Labdude- Over $200 of my summer’s earnings went to social security. Around $100 went to state and local taxes. I believe I have authority to speak. I have a job. I do pay school taxes. We also pay for public works. If young people of the future don’t have good paying jobs, where will your precious taxes come from?

Basically it boils down to if most of these bill collectors decide that they can’t put off being paid immediately, a LOT of students are going to have to pay for a fuck-up made by an entity they have no power over.

Maybe it’s just the student in me speaking, but that’s pretty damn wrong. Something should be done immediately; and if that’s not an option, it would be pretty damn nice of these bill collectors to cut the 1800 innocent students here a break.

As someone who lives in an area where most of our high school students are employed at least part-time, I know that (as tax paying citizens) this would never stand here.

I knew there was something I forgot to mention in the OP - that’s it.

If you want your $200 back ask your grandmother for it.

And this problem could be solved if you (and everyone else in the community) would agree to pay another extra $100 in school tax. I’m guessing that there is no chance of that happening or the school board would have just asked for more money. I know around here they are always asking for more school taxes.
