I really was hoping that this thread would die a slow death, apparently it will not.

Anyhow, I never ever meant that ALL new people suck. That was never my intention. weirddave hit the nail on the head. I was trying to convey that there has been a rash of new people that behave with less than appropriate behavior and (quoting myself) “a few bad apples the rest of us have to suffer”.

I realize the problems I noted are in wavs. My concern was more for the value of the quality posters we have here and I always welcome new people with an open mind until they prove me that they can’t be anything but assholes.

In my dealings on the net and AOL, I have always been new at some point. This I am not blind to. Although I try hard to feel the board out before I get too involved. Not all people work that way and jump right in. I need to remember this.

Esprix, sorry about that. Occasionally I start to post and hit cancel when I realize I am not contributing the thread. I misquoted myself (ack). I often have to sit back and remember which ones I actually hit the submit button. Hopefully I will do a better job at getting my postings straight.

As for the rest of you that decided to blast me for my post. Okay, that’s fine as this is The Pit.

Thank you to OldBroad, Kyla and Silo (and weirddave again) for taking the entire post and understanding the meaning behind it.

As for the life of this thread, I will read through it for one more day and after that I will consider it dead.

I think you can see how this struck me as being aimed at all new posters on this board.

(But then I managed to do the exact same thing in my post, so I’ve just given myself an object lesson in how easy it is to screw up communication in a written-word-only environment.)
