It was about the Republicans possibly controlling the Senate after the election results are final. One final addition, thanks to CBS for the Dan Rather DandruffCam© which showed us an overhead view of his scribbling on his notepad. It clearly showed us that he can abbreviate South Dakota correctly as SD. He then circled it 4 times for emphasis. Riveting, I say. Simply riveting coverage. :rolleyes: ---

My winner-and-still-champion Dan Rather phrase, from the 1984 election, as the news unfolded and it became obvious that Walter Mondale was getting his butt handed to him: “Walter Mondale has seen the light at the end of the tunnel…and it’s out.” ---

I thought the championship Rather phrase of the night (relayed by an election coverage watcher with a stronger stomach than me) was, referring to a close race: “tighter than a Botox smile.” Geez Dan, give it up. Though I can think of a slightly more colorful allusion that probably wouldn’t make it past the censors. ---

Anybody see the SNL sketch making fun of his 2000 comments? I don’t remember exactly how one of the phrases went, but it was something like, “Send Carl to the basement, Mabel, and put on your leather teddy and pumps. Put one foot on the chair, and you’re hand on your hip, 'cause Danny boy’s coming over and he’s been a bad, bad, boy!” Best part of the whole show! ---
