Dancing with the Stars -- DWTS -- Spring 2012

I wondered about that myself. Lacey’s dad is a very big guy to be dancing. Lacey and her brother, Benji’s twitter had a lot of tweets about their dad’s illness.

I see they gave Tristan another very strong personality this season. I’m not sure who’s a bigger Diva, Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, or Gladys Knight. Tristan will need a lot of patience with Gladys this season. He survived Nancy Grace and it can’t be any worse. :stuck_out_tongue: Glady’s age will be an additional challenge. It’s been a few decades since she danced with The Pips.

So let me see if I have this right … there are no “Reality Stars”, relatives or current/former spouses or F**kbuddies of celebrities?
Awesome!

I’m glad to see Chelsie is back after her “exile.”

I still find it quite “coincidental” that she was left off of the previous season after appearing as an All-Star on So You Think You Can Dance, only to be told by the DWTS producers that she could only appear in one episode (and, apparently, had to be called “Chelsie Hightower” while, traditionally, all other former contestants who return for whatever reason (either as All-Stars or choregraphers at city audition “choreography rounds”) are referenced only by their first names).

According to Wikipedia, Jack Wagner is engaged to Heather Locklear. So there’s that…

Jack Wagner and Melissa Gilbert are both actors in their own rights and you can’t say they are only famous for whom they’ve slept with.

I think the “bad boy” Maks thing is all scripted. He does that every year.

Katherine Jenkins has danced recently. She danced in Viva La Diva with Darcey Bussell in 2009 on the BBC. There was a nationwide tour and DVD from Viva La Diva with a lot of big production numbers.

She must have learned a lot working with that shows choreographers. Mark should be able to teach her some really nice ballroom routines for dwts. Itll be a lot of hard work, but if she impresses everyone early then a fan base will emerge.

I’m disappointed in myself that the only people I didn’t know where Maria Menounos, Katherine Jenkins, and William Levy. I’m wondering how Sherri Shepherd will memorize the dances, as she is quite possibly the dumbest person on TV.

Fortunately, I didn’t say that. Crisis averted!

Plus, Jack Wagner and Heather Locklear’s engagement is over – she’s been on a tear, might be in treatment now, was apparently beating up on him, etc.

I am so appalled that I know this shit.

I just noticed they said the premier is March 19. They’re actually giving them almost 3 whole weeks to prepare this time. Hopefully, that will mean much better dancing the first couple weeks.

Jaleel White? Can’t wait!

I have to admit I had a little crush on Jack Wagner during his “General Hospital” days, and I have “All I Need” on my ipod…

Coincidentally, I read that tidbit in the newspaper just this morning!

It’ll be mighty interesting when he crashes into a camera and utters “Did I do that?”

Almost 3 weeks is probably the shortest amount of time they’ve given the cast. In the past it was closer to 4 weeks time. But, this cast will probably be better talent wise than last year’s group.

I don’t know her, but what I’ve read of her she seems very classy, sweet, she was the girlfriend/fiancee of Gethin Jones, a tv host in the UK who came in third on Strictly Come Dancing, so I doubt Katherine is green to dance.

This presumes that they don’t start practicing until the public announcement, of course.

Yeah, I kinda think if there was practicing it was maybe only a few days since Katherine Jenkins and William Levy weren’t even in LA.

Who do you like ? I was initially happy for Melissa Gilbert, but she’s paired with Maks so now not so much… I do think Katherine Jenkins has big potential even though Mark isn’t my favorite pro. Maria Menounous and Derek could be good, but I’m getting a bit of spaz vibe from her, hope she can dance. I think Jaleel and Kym have the personality down, and William Levy… with Cheryl. He’s certainly gorgeous hopefully he’s a potential Gilles Marini. Roshon and Chelsie are going to be good, but I’m not sure of the personality…
Sherri Shepherd just grates on me. I never find her remotely funny… and Gladys Knight, bless her bringing the marquee name, but her age is a factor.

After seeing Katherine Jenkins in this clip, I’ll predict know she’ll be very popular on dwts. Gorgeous lady and very nice lines on the trapeze. (her part on the trapeze is towards the middle of the video)

She’d have a much better chance on SCD because she already has a strong fan base in the UK. I think she can win us Americans over too. I’ve already been a fan for a couple years.
