Dangerous Ideas (Because They Might Be True)

Are we sure that really, really, really good sommeliers aren’t able to taste the presence of red dyes?

Why do most people not trust Fox’s competitors?

I think there was a Mencken quote above: " there is always a well-known solution to every human problem—neat, plausible, and wrong."

^ Yup. I’m not religious at all. Don’t need it or desire it at all. But if I see ANYONE in need of help, I will. Ya don’t need a ‘soul’ in the religious sense to do that. It’s called human decency. Maybe a lost dog, or a stuck car. You help, because that’s what you DO. No thought, no religion or ‘soul’ involved.

Those that think they need religion to be a good person, scare the crap out of me.

My Wife was raised Presbyterian and Catholic at the same time. Must have been a bit weird. She had to go to confession, and confess her sins. She couldn’t think of any and lied and said she ate some cake that she shouldn’t have. Well, I suppose, that’s a sin right there. I donno.

I’m getting off subject again, but think that story is cute.

A two for one I guess…

Empathy is a given in pretty much any tribal mammal.

Hell, even bats well share their food with another bat who didn’t do well in the night’s hunt.

Where do you get that impression? I suspect that most people do trust Fox’s competitors – only the really loud people (those who strive to “remove all doubt”, as 'twere) claim to not trust the “LSM”. What is most unfortunate is that way too many people put too much trust in Fox, even if they do not actually distrust real journalists per se.

I mean there’s a reason why the left often calls it “The Corporate Media”.

Democrats trust the media - and almost no one else.

And even Democrats are lukewarm about it:

According to the Wikipedia entry:

On December 17, 2020, Gallup polling found that 31% of Americans identified as Democrats, 25% identified as Republican, and 41% as Independent.

There are currently 332,403,650 Americans. This means that since 14% of 25% of 332,403,650 is 11,634,128 and .27 times .41 times 332,403,650 is 36,797,084, and since 11,634,128 plus 36,797,650 equals 48,431,778, 48,431,778 people must be almost nobody. The number of Democrats who trust the media is .70 times .31 times 332,403,650, which equals 72,131,592. What exactly is your point in making such a wildly exaggerated statement?

Hey, that’s a good Wing Man!

Sorry.
