**dantheman**. WHY, oh why, do you continue to be an ass, trying to provoke a confrontation in any thread about **Euty’s** demotion to member from Moderator?

I have nothing aginst you(that I remember), but you can’t let it go.
If you gotta problem, let it out here, rather than in a thread that has people posting about Euty’s skills and his wonderfulness.
And, anyone else who has an axe to grind, **Exprix** , let it out here. You’re BOTH acting like assholes.
For anyone who missed it, I take **Esprix’s** post just at the end, as about as stupid as **dantheman’s**. **Cartooniverse** rightly called you out. Here’s the PIT, big boy. Go for it!
And remember, I NEVER said _Fuck you_ to anyone in this thread. :rolleyes:
PS. I wasn’t into this whole mess until it had developed for some many days. But if I had been, I would probably have been as upset as **Dex**. Blame it on my age. Blame it on whatever.

This is _exactly_ what this whole situation needed: another badly conceived pit thread! Thanks for stepping up to the plate, **samclem**.
FTR, I think **dantheman** is largely blameless for his posts in that thread. He snapped at a couple of people, but apologized within the same thread. I didn’t find his posts to be intentionally confrontational at all, unlike **Cartooniverse** , who seemed spoiling to restart the entire controversy. **Esprix** ’s comment to him was spot-on in that regard.

Huh. I didn’t get the feeling that anybody was really acting like an ass in the other thread, **'Toon** included. I saw some strong opinions, a couple of mildly heated statements, and a little salty language, but that’s about it.
Seriously…I must have gotten a whole different vibe than others did. I didn’t even _smell_ it turning into a pit thread…by anyone.

I don’t really see the problem here samclem. As I read the thread I kept looking for the place where dan and Esprix started misbehaving, but all I saw from Esprix was one statement that shows he might have a tad more inside knowledge than the rest of us. They both suggested that Cartoon not rehash a subject that has been discussed ad nausem in that particular thread.
Maybe you don’t agree with all they said, maybe you don’t agree with Persephone’s actions, or even the way it’s been handled here. But I have a hard time seeing what dan and Esprix did wrong…

May I offer my opinion, expressed rather obliquely in the linked thread, that discussion of the propriety of actions taken by the honchos of the SDMB, does not belong in a thread in Cafe Society? _Everyone_ who took a side in that thread was out of line.
**Euty** deserves better than that.

I was hoping a more senior poster than myself would note that. The thread was posted in Cafe Society. A thread saying Euty was put on ‘hiatus’ was sure to stir up dissent. There should have been two separate threads. A well wishing thread and a free for all, we all knew that was how it would break out eventually.
I am just surpised it didn’t happen after **Obfuscariast’s** odd post.

**minty** perhaps best expresses what I meant to say. I should only live so long as to approach his writing ability. Sorry if I muddled it.
The original thread was in tribute to **Euty** , one of the great Mods here. Not many would disagree with that statement. It was informational from the thread starter(Ed Zotti). I felt it was in the correct thread, as most of Euty’s fans would see it.
In my opinion, and, I guess in only my opinion, **dantheman** and **Esprix** seem to have a hard on to bend the thread towards a continued discussion of the merits of the flap, and how wronged **Euty** was. Take it to a pit thread. Just as I did.
There may have been other, single-post posters, but **dantheman** was my original target. I added **Esprix** at the last moment with his reply to **cartooniverse**. That was probably part of my poor OP.
**Miller** You and I must have read different threads. **dantheman** was the person who continued vitriol about wronging **Euty**. You obviously have favorites here with whom you agree. I strive to read all sides of the question, and agree with whom makes the most sense(to me). You probably see it differently. That’s gonna happen.
And, if I don’t punctuate something correctly, I probably drank more tonight than you did before I posted.
