_Blood Simple_ is a favorite of mine, but I question that it’s a dark comedy. _Fargo_, on the other hand, qualifies.
_Heathers_ is also near the top of my list.

Dark Star is my favorite dark comedy of all time.

I can’t remember the name of the movie but it’s about a guy carrying around 8 heads in a bag.
I’ve never heard anyone else mention this, but I’m convinced Death Note is a dark comedy.

[Miss Nobody](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1129427/). A 2010 black comedy starring Leslie Bibb. Absolutely _ **hilarious** _. Very well done. Yet no one knows about it.
Bought the DVD, and have probably watched it at least six times.

Another vote that _Blood Simple_ is not remotely a comedy. Very tense drama.
IMDb lists its genres as “Crime, Drama, Thriller.”
Checking other Coen films I counted four that are listed as “Comedy, Drama …” with _Barton Fink_ probably the grittiest listed as “Comedy, Drama, Thriller.” So there are better options in their universe.

I enjoyed the British black comedy **Nighty Night**.
Got to say I watched **Ravenous** for the first time a few weeks back and didn’t think much of it.
