Okay, I guess I misheard…I thought they said he hadn’t been seen in eight years. I guess it was just that he hadn’t been Batman for eight years. That’s still too long, though, I think 3-4 years would have been better.
Even staying at the mansion, Bruce Wayne’s knees disintegrated. There must be a lot of staircases.

I saw the movie a few days ago(having been rather delayed in seeing it).
Yeah, so I called it pretty well. Batman is dead in one sense, but Bruce lived and is free. I guess it was a pretty obvious ending.
I liked the movie and I really like the series. There is a lot to praise about this third entry, but is flawed. It could never live up to the second one, but it is a great sequel, especially to the first one.
In the end though, I liked it. I don’t really want to see another Batman movie ever again. I’m not a fan of the comics and didn’t like the '89 Batman that much, so this is the Batman story for me.
Good for Nolan.
Now he can go make his own movies, like Inception and so forth.

Finally saw it. Didn’t like it - just didn’t work for me.
It needed me to care a lot more for the characters to accept the simply-blocked story and let it carry me along. I cared about Catwoman - Anne Hathaway had spunk - but cared for none of the rest, for a variety of reasons.
Meh. Too much Big Message; not enough identification with the characters.
