Darn silly 2002 Volvo V-70. I bought it used and it has been a headache. In the last month, I had to replace a battery, took it home and a coolant hose busted, took it home and (ahem) ran it over a curb and destroyed the radiator and coolant pipes, took it home, got a transmission light. The car in the transmission shop. US$2000 for repairs. I said OK, I cannot buy another car for administrative reasons right now. I just did my Quicken. I had no idea the fool car was eating up so much money. Should have sold it at the first sign of trouble. Darn “Sunk cost trap.” Grumble. ---

Ah, Volvos! Has anyone ever been happy with a Volvo? I bought a used Volvo once, and it was one of the single worst decisions of my life. ---

I’m always amazed at how many 240s are still trundling along, clearly without much in the way of regular maintenance. Or washing.
