Remember that video making the rounds a while back with the FedEx (I think it was FedEx) guy just chucking an HDTV over a fence? Yeah, great work, guys.

One time I was in the garage and heard a loud THUNK. I quickly went in and looked out through the front door just in time to see a UPS truck pull away. Going out, there was a package on the porch, yet the light dusting of snow on the sidewalk from the driveway to the porch didn’t have any footprints in it. Yep, the asshole had just chucked the package 10 feet or so. Fortunately there wasn’t anything breakable in that one (No, the snow wasn’t deep enough at the time that there was any hazard.)

Another time UPS just left the little yellow “DUR WE MISSED YOU” ticket AT THE MAILBOX instead of on the front door, and didn’t even attempt to deliver. If I hadn’t heard the truck idling and peeked out the front door, I wouldn’t have even known they’d been there. Didn’t have the key for the door handy, so I couldn’t get out there before he pulled away in a hurry.

The pick up place for UPS is way across town, with lots of bad traffic in between. When I wind up having to go there because these guys won’t do their job properly, it’s at least an hour out of my day. It’s not like I live in a bad area, there’s no reason for them not to leave stuff, and sometimes they do, but not always, and it’s completely frustrating, particularly the way they charge you up the wazoo these days.

> I’ll admit I’m a bit perplexed. I also live somewhere gated and am never home, but I’ve also never had an issue logging into their website with my tracking number and rerouting the delivery to Kinko’s after the first delivery attempt, so I can swing by and get it at my leisure. I do this every time I order wine, since I’ll never be home to sign for it.

I didn’t know about this option, which is why I haven’t bought from Woot’s wine site after I had to drive 16 miles in rush-hour traffic for half a damn case of cheap wine.
Perhaps I will try again. **DiosaBellissima** , you have successfully fought some ignorance today.

Happy to help! Funny enough, mine are all Wine.Woot purchases too :D. When I go online to reroute it, I’m give the option of either sending it to the Fedex depot at the airport (clear across town) or the Kinko’s 2 miles away. So, Kinko’s it is! If you live in a bigger city, I’m sure you have even more options.
