I don’t have alot to add, but I wanted to know if anyone saw the story which led off tonites Dateline after the relief concert. The images of how badly that town was flattened was simply awesome. While New Orleans was certainly it’s own kind of hell, this was complete and total destruction. Buildings leveled right to the concrete. I’m assuming that it was where the “direct hit” took place, the same direct hit that was predicted to hit New Orleans a few hours before landfall. Had it not shifted it appears that we wouldn’t be talking about the tragedy at the Superdome or at the Convention Center. They simply would not have existed.

Those of you on the west coast who are interested might want to watch this segment after the concert. I’m sure some of these images and stories have already been told, but it’s the first I’d seen of them. It’s so very amazing.

miss got slammed by this storm. due to new orleans, miss isn’t getting the high profile press coverage.

i can’t image what nola would have looked like if the storm hadn’t zigged to the east a bit. what happened there is bad enough.
