Dear my fellow Americans, why do you hate Canada so much? Fucken eh I have a bit of a fascination with Canada. Well I started out this new years by getting dumped. So last week I thought “I know. I’ll try a dating site and try dating again!”. I’m free again dontcha know. I’ll try messaging and sometimes they’ll message back, and a conversation starts, but they always peter out if I do one thing. With creeping horror I’ve noticed a trend. Women always stop responding if you say one nice thing about Canada. It’s turned into a game almost. Drop something about Canada into conversation and see if it scares em off. You know how aggressive Canadian culture is. You don’t know what wild things I could be into. I might put cheese curds and gravy on my fries, or speaking an archaic form of french. You don’t want that seedy life style. I think I’d better luck messaging black women and inviting them to KKK meetings. So I’m left wondering if there’s some major facet of Americana I’m missing out on. Maybe I’m supposed to pee on a maple tree every morning and spit northward five times a day. I don’t know. I do know now to only share my Canada shame with only close friends, and Canadians. It prolly scares em off cause they think I might move. That and dating sites suck. You only meet the kind of people who post on dating sites, such as my Ex. Enough said. ---

How exactly does Canada keep coming up so early in your relationships? I think I’ve gone through entire first dates without ever mentioning Canada, or even thinking about it. ---

In what context exactly does Canada come up during casual conversation within the first few meetings? Maybe they misinterpret your love of beaver? ---

I want to steal that and put it in my profile under “first date”. 😃 To answer the rest of your questions Canada doesn’t pop up in all of them. I really like to talk about my road trip through Canada. It really left an impression on me. Plus I’m a history geek and Canada is similar to the US but different in some interesting ways. ---
