You also may be interested in reading the story “[Me and my shadow](http://silentbobspeaks.com/?m=20060328)” by Kevin Smith about his best friend and co-star Jason Mewes. Jason Mewes developed an addiction to heroin and oxycontin and this story follows him from the beginnings of his addiction to his final trip to rehab from a loved one’s point of view. I found it facinating and I think it might be helpful to you.
