Chalk another one up for Young Americans. It’s kind of a one off, and may not grab you on the first listen, but let it get it’s hooks into you and you’re in for a big reward. It’s great (IMHO). There’s also a DVD-Audio version that gives you a 5.1 mix by Tony Visconti - who mixed the original studio version. It sounds wonderful on a half decent system. Couldn’t live without it. M ---

Also worth a listen is the soundtrack to A Life Aquatic, which is filled with acoustic covers of Bowie songs in French. ---

Now with late hours at work and two infants at home, I don’t have much time to go to the store. I plan on getting them this week-end and after my purchases I’ll report back here. Thanks again everybody for the suggestions. ---

When Ryko re-issued them, my sister bought them all, from _Sound + Vision_ in 1989 through _Scary Monsters_ in 1992. Other than _Ziggy Stardust_, my favorites are _Diamond Dogs, The Man Who Sold the World_, and _Pin-Ups_. ---

Yes, Portuguese, sung by Brazilian artist Seu Jorge. I don’t have the soundtrack but I have the film on DVD. That’s one of the things I enjoy about it (the Portuguese translation of Bowie songs.) ---
