# David Letterman and Rupert

Does anybody remember those sketches with David Letterman and Rupert…Rupert would wear these glasses that had an earpiece in them and David Letterman would tell him things to say to people. Gosh! It was hilarious! They would go to McDonalds and to the park and would say the craziest stuff to people. I wish they would do that again.

I was always waiting for the one time when Letterman would have Rupert say something to the wrong person, who would turn around and bust Rupert in the mouth. I’m amazed that never happened. Or we just didn’t see it.

They just brought back the old drunk.  
I think his stage name was owned by NBC, so they don’t call him anything these days, just chase him from sleeping under the desk.

He wasn’t “The old drunk”. That’s Larry “Bud” Melman. Now they refer to him by his real name: Calvert DeForest.

One of the best was a few years ago when Dave was in LA and he filled his car with tacos and offered them to Japanese tourists.
