The last full week of “The Late Show with David Letterman” was great. Dave’s guests have all been ‘bringing it’. Bryan Regan’s spot was hilarious: Norm Macdonald was great too with funny material and a touching tribute at the end: Tom Waits was amazing: [![]( " - YouTube") ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKBFSU-LUw0) Only next Monday and Tuesday will be regular shows, with Bill Murray, Bob Dylan (and I’m guessing Regis Philbin) as the final guests. Wednesday’s show, like Johnny Carson’s last “Tonight Show” will not have any guests but, according to the publicity, highlights and ‘surprises’. ---

I thought Vedder was a bit iffy, too. Tom Hanks may have been shaky over getting the camera attached and plugged into the thing quickly. He understands that time expands on television. Notice how he says, “Stop tape” when it takes just a few seconds longer than he hoped. ---
