Maybe the Angriest Dog in the World should try it.
Hey, I meditate, and I can fly! Have you even tried?
At least now that the Sun is in Libra. When we were in Virgo, I kept losing altitude and whacking into the sides of buildings.
I agree with Larry Borgia. I personally am not religious. But I don’t see how believing you can change conditions in the world by meditating is any crazier than believing you can change conditions in the world by praying.
Here’s a better idea genius (by the way its just Englewood… no West) If Lynch or some other practioners opened up a storefront… but offered some sort of tangible benefit some would be interested. The vast majority would be told to avoid by their pastors…Pastors don’t like meditation… they want to be the one to tell you
TM has led to some really good songs… “Dear Prudence”. “How will I know”
I practice James Vogh’s thirteen-house astrology, the one with the addition of Arachne. This is a really bad idea, because I’m strongly arachnophobic. But it does enable me to fly. A confederate puts a spider in front of me, and I’m suddenly forty feet in the air.
I’ve also tried throwing myself at the ground…and missing. I do my part, but, for some reason, the ground never seems to miss me.
I’m very good at thinking happy thoughts. It’s the Pixie Dust I’m missing. Probably just as well; the FDA has classified it as a schedule one narcotic.
The detail a lot of people miss there is that you’re supposed to pray and work toward whatever goal it is you’re praying about. Sitting on a chair, they’ll do; getting off their butts… uuffff…
I’d go further and say it adds to the quality of his movies. If David Lynch was a logical hyper-rationalistic atheist, none of his movies would ever have been made.
I might actually pay to see a film of the Four Corner Hustlers being trained in TM™ by David Lynch’s guru.
Please, No!
I don’t see how you get that from either the OP’s quote or the full article linked to. Lynch specifically says it’s the person who meditates who will lose any violent urges. Sounds to me more like he’s advocating for teaching TM in the inner city, which may or may not do any good, but it couldn’t hurt.
Ah, that does put a different spin on it. Ignorance fought. Cheers guys.
Fuck that foreign shit! Pabst Blue Ribbon!
Hmm, after some googling I can’t find any direct evidence that Lynch backs any of TM’s wilder beliefs. I just assumed he believed them, just like I assume a professed Christian believes in the divinity of Christ. But maybe he doesn’t. Sorry if I misrepresented you, David Lynch! I like your movies.
Nuh-uhhh. There’s Englewood and West Englewood. Don’t you feel stupid now?
