David Simmons, idiot driver

I grew up in Ohio also. When I ws 16, I almost killed a jogger at a stop sign. It was only his uncanny leaping ability that saved him from serious injury.

My part of Ohio, though, had many beautiful, rolling hills.

Not exactly. I implied that sometime in the future your knowledge of the conditions could be imperfect and stated that I hope that day wouldn’t come to pass.

Correct, which is why none of this had any part of my comment.

If you notice I said

I didn’t say, “Shit, I don’t care where the pedestrian is, if I’m coming through the intersection, they’d better get the fuck out of my way.” Any adult, who is so brain dead that they step out in front of a moving vehicle inches away from the front end of that vehicle deserves to get hit. I don’t care if who has the rightaway in that situation (and it can vary from state to state), you do not step in front of a moving vehicle unless there’s a good bit of distance between you and the car, because you don’t know what could happen. The driver could be drunk, the throttle could stick, or the brakes could fail.

I did. Or did you miss it when I said

If that’s not saying I’d take responsibility for my actions, I’d like to know what is.

Except I didn’t say, “Don’t sue me.” I said that you’d be wasting your time and money. An entirely different animal.

Sorry, dude, but you’re the devil. Only a complete maniac would roll a stop sign after having ascertained that it’s perfectly safe because nobody is around. After all, your powers of observation are so frighteningly impaired when rolling slowly that you must come to a full and complete stop in order to be sure you aren’t overlooking someone lurking in the dark shadowy areas in the crosswalk.

Baby killer.

Actually, I did miss that part.

I don’t want to portray you as evil, I’m just taking contention with the idea that, if someone crosses the street with the light while you go throuh illegally, against the light, the blame is still squarely with you.

You sound like a generally responsible driver, so I don’t want to have a huge ongoing argument about occasionally ignoring a defective traffic signal.
