Thanks for letting us know, Tim. David has been in my thoughts a lot for the past few weeks. I’m wishing all comfort to his family and for David…well, just Godspeed on his new journey. He was wry, curious and brave in life so I don’t suppose he’d approach death much differently. A fine gentleman and he’s missed, even by a bunch of folks around the world he never met in person. ---

Thanks, Tim. I hope you stick around these parts. You know, we’ve had great posters come and go and you never really know what happened to most of them, they just disappear. We hope that their lives are rich and fulfilling and that they just don’t have the time to post here anymore. Or something like that. It hurts to know that a member of our community has actually passed on. Hopeful expectations of an eventual return are dashed and we will never hear or learn from that person again. David was truly admired here and his presence won’t soon be forgotten. ---

He certainly struck me as a good and gentle man. I enjoyed his stories and perspective and appreciated the contributions he made long before our presence. What a treat it was, what an honor, to have him here as a valued member. Goodbye, Mr. Simmons, and thanks. ---
