I wondered if anyone else had noticed that Newton had collected so much info on so many people. Scylla noted this as I did. Seems to me that perhaps that thread is meant in all honesty as just getting to know people, but it could be misused. Seeing as how these boards are suddenly forcing people into violent acts I again ask, āIs the board making trolls come here because it is a source of violence and anger right now, essential ingredients to trolls?ā
I mean Sheesh Opal was ready to kill herself, Newton Et al want to kill DavidB, and we are standing by watching. Not good.

AFAIC, Newton did not have any significant amount of IRL information on any members of this board except for himself and (possibly) a few of his IRL friends. Now, Phaedrus did claim to have IRL information about several people on the board- Gaudere, but he was flat out wrong. He either didnt have the information he was pretending, or he had it factually incorrect.
Now, OTOH, Newton COULD have had IRL information about DavidB, because David chooses to put self-identifying information in his profile, such that if Newton were really as dangerous and deranged as he appeared to be, David might actually face IRL danger. IMHO, Newton is not a serious threat. I hope for Davidās sake that I am not wrong.
Opalcat needs IRL help. She is investing way too much of her self-esteem in the opinions of people on bulletin boards, people who, for all extents and purposes, donāt exist. But I do not believe the board is responsible for her investment, and should not be considered liable. No, I donāt think this forum is generating anger or hatred to breed trolls. For one thing, the Pit has been here a lot longer than this particular batch of trolls.
For crying out loud, this is the PIT! It is DESIGNED to be a place for insults, flames, profanity, etc. If you are of a personality type which is traumatized by such material, STAY OUT OF THE PIT! How complicated is that?
