I think this thread got way off topic back at like page 3. Lynn, can we close this thread or move it to great debates seeing as how everyone seems to have an opinion on it?!?! (okay the GD thing was just a joke) But seriously, what are the guidelines for a thread no longer having anything to do with the original topic? Can you close a thread for that reason?
Not that it really matters much, but I am getting tired of wading through this thing everyday on the slight chance that it is back on topic.

Umā¦I think the odds of it getting back on topic are fairly slim, as Newtons original idea- that DavidB should resign or be replaced- got shot down pretty hard. But SinsApple, if you want it to get back on topic, then by all means post something to that effect. If the current thread doesnāt interest you and doesnāt appear to be veering back towards a topic that WOULD interest youā¦ donāt read it. Where is the difficulty in this?

The one rule is āDonāt be a jerk.ā
Some people like to make unreasonable assertions, state opinion as fact, are not willing to back up their contentions with evidence or reason, or become quite agitated and insulting when they are asked to do so.
On occasion DavidB has been known to ::ahem::
take issue with such people and their ideas.
I think itās safe to say that these people consider DavidB a jerk.
Now, sexual harrasssment is in the eye of the harrassed. I see no reason why it should be any different āwith being a jerk.ā
Since some people (NA for one) thought DavidB was a jerk, then in NAās eyes he was, and is in violation of the boardās rule.
Therefore I suggest he should resign, be replaced, orā¦
Swear to uphold idiocy, ignorance, arbitrariness, and lunacy from now on.

Ah, I see you havenāt been to proper sexual harassment training.
Actually, sexual harassment is _not_ in the eye of the harassed. It is a āreasonable personā standard. If a āreasonable personā would believe the actions constitute sexual harassment, then the person doing it could be in trouble.
Here at the SDMB, the only people whose opinions matter are the Admins. If they think you are being a jerk, you are gone. Now, they are incredibly reasonable people, so one might suggest that the standard is the same.
Rysdad: Nope, Iāve never seen even a second of the show, but I know some of the plots just from people talking about them.
