No problem David. That one just really stuck out.
The funny thing is, I agree with David on about 0 issues, but I have no problem at least saying he is a valuable poster because he has his beliefs, stands up for them, and doesn’t play around. He can be hard to handle, but most of us are at some point. So, David, keep it up.
And I am slightly disappointed Satan has apparently missed out on this excitement.

Well, there you go!
A simple misunderstanding. Calm, rational, friendly Newton’s Apple has been victimized by his housesitter, who also knows Mikey. But that’s certainly not the real Newton’s fault. We should welcome him back with open arms. After all, a deranged housesitter is something that could happen at any time.
Whew. And here I was worried. Turns out it’s all a mistake.
Problem solved, everyone.

All right, I will confess that I was at least prepared for the possibility of some serious or not-so-serious glitches (not you, **Glitch** ) occuring on or shortly after January 1, 2000. I didn’t actually stockpile candles, bottled water, and canned goods, but I thought about it. In the end, I was pleasantly surprised that everything went smoothly.
Until now. Now I can see the Truth. When the Millenium arrived, it came with a subliminal call to every loon with a computer to _come, come to the SDMB. Come and attack DavidB. Come and make your idiocy apparent to people who are armed with intelligence and blistering wit. When they brush you off, you must whine. Whine, trolls, whine._
Look at the pattern! Everything was straightforward here until New Year’s Eve. Since then, can anyone point to a single day that has gone by without another new or ‘new’ Mr. Pouty Pants?
Me, I thought NA or fp was _much_ funnier as The Finder.

Honestly, I barely did anything to demolish the child. He pretty much did it himself. As Glitch noted, he did more to the kid than I did. But he was so fixated on me he was looking for anything. That’s why I’m pretty sure he’s the holdover FormerAgent/Finder/Mikey/Gigoloman/etc. What a sad life the kid must lead…

I think we are ignoring some ominous signs.
Though I’ve only been here a few weeks there is a weird pattern going on.
It’s almost as is some posters are infected with some weird contagion.
The victim of this contagion posts an assertion. Others disagree, or perhaps the victim didn’t have his facts straight. At any rate, it seems clear that the victim is in error, and others state this.
The victim refuses to admit his error, but clings blindly to it.
Usually there is a claim that evidence to support the assertion will be forthcoming.
Ad Hominem attacks begin and the victim resorts to vulgarity.
The victim is ridiculed for clinging to his assertion in the face of overwhelming evidence that he is wrong. He is called on his feeble attempt to defend himself.
There is a significant investment of self-esteem in the victim’s assertions by now, he identifies with them, seeing any attack on them as a personal one.
Usually the victim resorts to Fuckspeak as his defense and lashes out against his perceived attackers.
At this point the community at large attacks back in kind since they are generally intolerant of this level of vulgar hostility.
The victim realizes that he cannot fight a battle against a hundred enemies and so focuses on one. Usually this is DavidB.
(Now we all know what a nonassertive,noncombatant wimp DavidB is. He is mild and tentative in his postings, and his feelings are easily hurt so clearly he is the logical choice for this attack, where a quick and easy victory is recquired to restore self-esteem.) Heh. heh. heh.
The whole sad sorry thing continues until the victim is so discredited he either goes away for good or comes back as a sock-puppet.
The sad thing is all that is needed is for the victim to step back, and realize that perhaps he is wrong. If the victim does this, than usually he is forgiven, and actually may garner some credit for being big enough to admit it.
If this does not occur then the victim enters the final endstage of the syndrome. He gets banned, comes back as a silly sock puppet, and is basically widely acknowledged as being a total idiot. Now he’s been reduced to a joke.
It’s a shame that this disease seems to be spreading.
Is there a name for this syndrome?
Since NA pretty much admitted to being Mikey I’d like to have it noted for the record that I was the first to so identify him.

Scylla, I hate to disagree with you ;), but I think you’re overanalyzing this particular situation. NA, as the former Mikey, et al, was looking for something to jump on me about. He didn’t want to just flame me for no reason, as that would make it obvious that he was a troll. So he waited 'til I said something he didn’t like and then pounced. Unfortunately for him, he’s a complete idiot and couldn’t hide his true troll nature.
