I’d have expected more critical thinking from an engineer.

Too late. My life is ruined. I’ve spent the first 32 years of my life carefully avoiding any discussion of horror movies, and now I went and wandered into this thread and my life was unexpectedly ruined. Might as well divorce the wife, sell the house, put the dogs down, move to Vegas and drink myself to death.

There is simply nothing left to live for. Thanks Sean. In the future you should be more careful about playing fast and loose with other people’s lives like that.

I think this thread should be shut down before it happens to anyone else. There’s a danger lurking here. I think it fits into the “Frankenstein Archetype” – technology run amuck.

Well, that’s a recent development, and hasn’t been worked into too many Film Studies 101 syllabuses yet.  
Matthew Broderick’s character in _War Games_ fits into that one, though.
