For me, all I ask is that they pick a time and leave it. I’m in the dark either at the front or tail end of the day, they won’t convince me of any savings.

In Spain legal time is one hour ahead in winter and two hours ahead in summer but the Spanish people do everything bery late by their clocks so that, in reality, it makes no difference. When they say they have dinner at 10 PM in the summer they are actually having dinner at 8 PM by the sun.

DST in December would have the sun rising sometime after 10am here. Can’t say as that sounds very appealing to me.

I have a length of string. I cut a piece off one end of it, and tied it to the other end. Now my string is that much longer!! I’m gonna keep on doing this until my string will go all the way around the world!

Time is finally back to where it should be. There should be light in the morning, how else can our bodies be expected to wake up? It should be dark when you’re heading home - that’s how it works. Morning = light. Evening = dark.

I curse Congress for extending Daylight Saving Time and prolonging the insanity an extra two weeks. I wish we could do away with it altogether.

The trouble with having the light at the end of the day is schoolkids heading out to school in the dark. My son was already walking to the bus stop in the dark (at 6:45, but that’s a whole 'nother rant). I’d think that having that morning darkness be year round would lead to more kids getting run over while crossing streets.

That’s why God gave us caffeine.

I heard on the news of some research study that showed that heart attacks go down by 5% on the day we “fall back” and go up by 6% on the days we “spring ahead”. It’s just not healthy. No more springing ahead! Leave the clocks alone.

I think we’re a sufficiently advanced society that we should have done away with Daylight “Savings” Time (which saves nothing) decades ago.

But it appears I’m wrong about that.

> [@Lord\_Ashtar](#):

> We should do away with it altogether. Fuck the farmers.

“Real” farmers couldn’t care less. The clock is irrelevant. All that matters is when the cows are ready to be milked, when the dew dries off the crops, and when it’s light enough outside to do what you need to do. The only time the clock affects the farmers is when they have to get their kids to school. In the farming/ranching communities I’ve lived in, businesses that deal with farmers change their hours to serve the farmers better, not to follow some silly artificial DST system.

> [@amarone](#):

> This can be achieved by having permanent DST, which I would LOVE. Well, except that I would then prefer double DST in summer.

I could also be achieved by leaving the damned clocks alone and getting school boards and business managers to set intelligent hours.

We should “fall back” every day, then. Bring on the 25-hour day!

No offense, but some of us have learned to actually cope with the change and arrive on time.

You can take my DST from me when you pry it from my cold, dead, summerwear.

I actually don’t know if Arizona is permanently on DST or permanently on Standard Time.

It doesn’t matter. All I care about is not switching twice a year. That was a pain.

Pick a time and stick with it!

I too vote for all year DST. I’d rather have an hour after work and drive to work in the dark than vice versa.

One of the reasons I can cope with the 8 months of gray and darkness here in Seattle is that in the summer I can get off work at 5:30pm and still go play 18 holes of golf because it is light out until 10pm.

So I’m with **tdn** … deal with it people. It really isn’t that big of a thang

Exactly. I love my long summer nights. And the day we set the clocks forward is a bit of a celebration for me. Extra light!

I remember when Indiana switched to DST a couple of years ago. People there were predicting all sorts of disasters about it. It was kind of funny. Kind of like when New Jerseyans were faced with pumping their own gas. “I’ll set myself on fire!”
