Daylight Savings Time

But not everybody uses Daylight time, so it’s not the standard. I imagine that over 50% of the world’s population doesn’t go on Daylight Savings time. (That’s a guess, I’m thinking that it’s not used in China and India.)

Just because most of the United States uses it doesn’t mean it’s the normal way of doing things.

To add to the list of late sunrises.
On Ocotber 28, 2000, the last full day of daylight saving time, sunrise in Holland, Michigan is 8:14 am. (86 degrees W, 42 degrees N).

Holland, Michigan must be very close to the western edge of the Eastern Time Zone, in addition to being so far morth.

Do they grow tulips there?

Holland, Michigan is on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan.

It’s biggest tourist attraction is a festival called “Tulip Time.”

It was originally settled by Dutch immigrants. The 4th of July fireworks show there starts very late, around 11 pm.
