Good morning everyone! Today is the last day I’m going to be online - I travel tomorrow, and won’t have computer access at all while I’m there. So I have a few questions. I can’t tell if I can take the Metro from my hotel to Taqueria Poblano - I know I’m near the Crystal City stop on the blue line, but I don’t know where the restaurant is. How the heck do I get there? Actually, I guess that’s my only question, but wanted to let you know that I’ll only be online until 4:30pm Pacific time today so I want to make sure I know how I’m getting to where we’re meeting on Thursday. Friday I’m not worried about because we can deal with that on Thursday night. ---

☹ Things have changed in my world this week - I’m shifting job positions, and while that’s very good news for me, it means I’m going to be working late Thursday _and_ Friday (and possibly Saturday) to close out my current projects. For me, there’s all sorts of variables here. I don’t mind driving in snow, but on DC’s crowded roads, it doesn’t take many idiots to make a mess of the roads when the weather gets nasty. If they send everyone home early, that might help, but if they send everyone home early, they send _me_ home early, and ‘home’ is over near the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. So I’m keeping a close eye on things. ---

I’m starting to think it won’t be too bad out there tonight. The schools are all closed today, and most people stayed home from work, so there won’t be a lot of traffic. And while they’re still talking about totals of 4-7 inches, it’s going to come down gradually all day, and my guess is the plows shouldn’t have much problem keeping up with the snow. Unless they send us home way early (which I don’t think they will), I figure I’ll be there tonight. ---

I’m optimistic that the Va folks won’t have a problem tonight. The plans for tomorrow, on the other hand, might be changed. The whole thing hinged on my giving Scout a ride and now I’m unable to come through. I’m communicating with FCM by email and phone to come up with a Plan B. I will take this opportunity to apologize for being overly enthusiastic in volunteering to drive. Mea Culpa. ☹ Watch this space for updates. ---

I’ll have to do some thinking and get in touch with **scout** when I figure things out. The place I suggested was to accommodate any Baltimore folks, but that appears to not be an issue now. I could just drive to her hotel myself, but we’re looking at over an hour from my house on a Friday night, which is not the best time to be headed into ALexandria or DC. On top of that, my spousal unit works near Vienna, so he’d be driving all the way home, then almost all the way back, so I know he won’t want to do that. I’m not getting warm fuzzies about this, and I’m not happy. Must think… ---
