OK, there’s another thing I forgot to mention. I’m not used to doing this via messageboard. Actually, I’m not used to telling people how to do this, period. I’m either doing it myself, or being told what to do and doing it myself.
One more thing to check is the CMOS battery - I’ve had issues where I didn’t get a post beep, and nothing powered up and it was only the cmos battery being dead not the motherboard.
IME pulling RAM from an energized board is about a 75% one shot motherboard killer. Power supplies are a little more resilient. Considering that these types of jobs are a PITA for non technically inclined folks it may be worth checking if a small local shop can help with the install. Swapping the electronics suite is pretty quick with the right tools handy and they know all the common pitfalls (standoffs? what are standoffs? :rolleyes: ) They can probably do it for an hour of labor max, most of the time on mobo replacement is reloading windows when a different motherboard is used.
