# Dead folks in lorry now Chinese citizens?

The awful news that came out over the last few days about a Bulgarian lorry with 39 dead in the container was horrific. But the NYT is now reporting that the dead were Chinese citizens and not, as predicted, Syrian refugees.

It’s been confirmed that they were Chinese, and eight of them were women. Individual IDs are expected to take a long time.
