They had a blast
Update… three have been arrested (the home owners and the brother). They had raised the insurance a few weeks before… they replaced the digital thermostat with an old style one that can spark when it turns on… their microwave blew up from the inside… which can also be set on a timer to turn on up to 24 hours later… they had a big spike in their gas usage nine hours before the explosion… the step down regulator for the gas had been removed… as had the valve for the gas fireplace. And the best… the guy and his brother contacted the gas company and asked about how much and how long it would take to fill a house with gas enough to explode… turns out the answer was 6-9 hours.
Oh, yeah… they had several boxes of photos and financial documents that they “recovered” from the house… even though everything was totally destroyed and nobody was allowed into the area to recover anything.
But, I’ll leave it up to you to decide if you think they may be responsible or not.
They did everything except take lessons for flying planes - but not landing them. I hope the homicide charges stick.
Me too. Those three deserve long, slow and painful prison sentences.

Some years back there was a freak accident in Takoma Park, MD. A tanker truck driver was trying to refill the underground tanks at a gas station. He accidentally put the hose down into a pipe leading into the sewer system instead of the tank, and pumped several thousand gallons of gasoline into the sewer. Later that day, the rising fumes filled several home basements, hit pilot lights of water heaters, furnaces, etc. , and blew several homes up, some separated by several blocks, within a few minutes. I was a big mystery and big story for a few days until they figured it out.
I had seen the woman on the news sobbing… I never noticed that no tears were being shed. She of course explained that her tear ducts don’t work. I wonder if they will fix themselves once they announce that she will get the death penalty?
