I liked DP 1 and 2, and the Wolverine movie where he dies, but am not tuned into the MCU/Avengers/Xmen universes and plot lines at all, so could someone explain how the Tennessee Valley Authority comes to play such an important role in all this? ---

They’re an agency that exists outside of linear time and seeks to prevent unauthorized meddling with the past. I wouldn’t say “quietly dropped” is quite correct. They concluded the storyline in Loki instead of making it the next Avengers movie instead. ---
